Mobile App Advertising
It’s no secret that mobile app advertising is the new rage for advertisers, especially for a target audience that is
always on the move. In fact, eMarketer projects that U.S. mobile ad spending alone will grow 80 percent to
$2.61 billion in 2012.
Here are even more reasons you should consider advertising in COSE Update’s mobile apps:
App Users Visit 5x Per Month
When asked how long they spend reading or looking through an average issue, about half (47%) spend
20 minutes or more. Engagement time for magazine apps is noticeably higher on the iPad and other tablets.
18% are New Readers
Eighty-two percent of app users say they interact with the app publisher via other media, such as print, digital,
website or email. Eighteen percent are new readers accessing content solely through the app.
One-Third Under Age 35
App users skew younger than digital magazine readers.
Four-Out-of-Five Share Content
Eight-one percent of app users report sharing content from their apps via email, world of mouth or social channels.
66% Act on Advertising
In addition to sharing content, 66 percent of app users take action on advertising and 40 percent report making a
purchase either directly through the app, via a website, at a store, or through a catalog.

High Satisfaction with Magazine Apps
When users were asked to rate their satisfaction with their magazine app, the average rating was four out of five,
where five indicates “Extremely Satisfied.”
